The PTA and PTO mission is to advocate for our children. Similarly, a school’s mission is typically to further our children’s education as well as social and emotional growth. In order to effectively do both of these things, understanding children’s basic needs is critical. Creating and advocating for policies that meet these needs allow students to excel. Our guest, Kristina Campos, founder of the Impactful Parent, will discuss children’s three basic needs and some ways to meet these in the school environment.

About Our Guest: Kristina Campos, The Impactful Parent

Kristina Campos lives in Colorado and has 4 children.  She has been an educator for over 20 years, working with all grade levels preschool through 12th grade. Kristina graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and received her master’s degree from the University of Denver. When Kristina is not with her friends and family, she volunteers as a Board of Trustee for the GALS Schools of Denver (3 Denver Public Charter Schools) and for a gifted private school called Mackintosh Academy in Littleton, Colorado. Kristina has a passion for children and a strong devotion to serving parents of school-age children. She continues to stay active in the schools by substitute teaching whenever her schedule allows.
